I'm Steven Kummer

Creating something beautiful with color energizes me and makes me feel alive.  Sharing these creations with others, connecting visually, makes me feel like I am spreading the beauty of color and calmness along with peace, to others.  It’s what I feel inside.

Being artistic and excelling in mathematics carved a path for me to venture into the world of computers, getting a degree in Computer Science building Information Systems for companies for more than 3 decades.  Awesome crazy projects working with dozens of IT people building scalable systems…that no one gets excited to hear about.  But I always found time to sit down and draw, to do something artistic.  It was a way of pushing the busyness of reality away and letting my mind creatively escape to unleash peaceful serenity.

Some personal tragedy, and a 15-year endeavor in Tang Soo Do Karate that earned me a 3rd degree black belt in another form of art showing commitment to my passions both allowed me to explore a more philosophical view of life, nature, physical being, and how we interact with this world…being mindful. The most important, finding the person I want to spend the rest of my life with, my beautiful loving and caring wife.

All these things bring me to this point in my life where I can share with the world what makes me fulfilled, and hopefully share the beauty of something artistic with others allowing you to feel what I feel inside when I create them.  Each painting is original and starts with a purpose.  Everything I create comes from the heart.  I put passion, dedication as well as life, nature and the love of being alive as my inspiration in each piece of art.
